 How to write a CV

Only if they are relevant. (see “CV Writing TIP eleven – no irrelevant content on your CV)

As a graduate looking for your first paid role it can be a great opportunity to identify achievements within your sport or interest. Maybe you have organised and completed a three peaks challenge and raised £3000 for charity. A prospective employer will see several key attributes in this including: organising (planning and managing), tenacity (actually completing the challenge and collecting the money) and teamwork (ensuring that the group as a whole completed the challenge).

There is always a good case to be made for inclusion of interests that show a general ability to achieve and manage, particularly if there is a limited opportunity within your current paid role. Organising field trips for a wildlife group, acting as treasurer for a local charity, captaining a successful amateur sports team: all of these can be considered, depending on the position that you are applying for.
